Terms of Sale and Use

The contract between Weleaks and its users: what a report is, what it may not be used for, and what each party owes the other.

1. Publisher, contact and hosting

1.1 https://www.weleaks.com and the Weleaks service are published by Weeleaks Technology Limited (C 116871), whose registered office is at . Correspondence regarding these Terms is received at [email protected].

1.2 The Site is hosted by OVHcloud (OVH SAS)., 61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus (https://www.ovhcloud.com), on servers located in the European Union.

2. Terms used in these Terms

2.1 The following words have the meanings set out below.

Customer
Any individual or legal entity using the Services, whether as a consumer or in a professional capacity.
Account
The secure personal area from which searches are run and their history consulted.
Search
A request submitted by the Customer, identifying a person by name, email address, telephone number or username.
Report
The document Weleaks assembles in response to a Search, from information already published on the open web.
Subject
The person a Search is about, who is not, as such, the Customer.
Source
A public page or record from which an element of a Report is drawn, and which the Report links to.
Preview
The free, partial version of a Report, produced without paid lookups and without the written summary.

3. Scope and acceptance

3.1 These Terms govern the entire relationship between Weleaks and the Customer, to the exclusion of any other document. Running a Search constitutes unreserved acceptance.

3.2 Weleaks may amend these Terms. The version that applies is the one in force on the date of the order; any material change is notified by email at least thirty (30) days before it takes effect.

3.3 The Services are available only to persons aged eighteen (18) or over who have legal capacity to contract.

4. What the Services are

4.1 Weleaks is a search tool. From an identifier supplied by the Customer, it queries public sources — search engines, encyclopaedic references, public profiles on open platforms — and assembles what it finds into a single structured Report: professional background, public profiles, publications and mentions, education, interests.

4.2 Weleaks holds no database of its own about individuals, buys no file of personal data, and accesses no private, administrative, banking, medical, judicial or telecommunications record. It reports only what a person could find themselves, from pages already published, and it links to each of them.

4.3 The written summary in a Report is produced by an artificial-intelligence model from the material gathered. The list of sources is assembled mechanically from what was actually found, so that every statement can be checked against the page it came from.

4.4 A free Preview is available before purchase. It contains real results, without the written summary and with most source links withheld. A paid Report runs the full search.

4.5 A Report is produced from what the sources say at the time of the Search. Weleaks gives no undertaking that a Search will return a result: a person with no public presence produces an empty Report, which is an answer and not a failure of the service.

5. What the Services may not be used for

5.1 Weleaks is not a consumer reporting agency, a credit reference agency, a background-screening provider or an investigation service, and a Report is not a background check. It may not be used, in whole or in part, as a factor in any decision about a person's eligibility.

5.2 The Customer undertakes in particular not to use the Services, and not to use a Report, in connection with:

  • hiring, promotion, discipline, redundancy or any other employment decision;
  • granting or refusing housing, a tenancy or a mortgage;
  • granting or pricing credit, insurance or any financial product;
  • admission to an educational establishment, or the award of a professional licence;
  • any other decision producing legal effects for the Subject or similarly significantly affecting them.

5.3 Use for any of these purposes is a serious breach of these Terms, entitling Weleaks to close the Account immediately, and leaves the Customer solely liable for the consequences.

6. Similarity is not identity

6.1 A name is not a unique identifier. A Report assembled from a name gathers information about people whose public traces resemble the identifier searched for. It may concern a different person of the same or a similar name, and may mix several people together.

6.2 Weleaks publishes the sources precisely so that the Customer can verify, source by source, whether a result concerns the person they had in mind. Nothing in a Report may be treated as established without that verification.

6.3 Public sources may be incomplete, out of date or themselves wrong. The written summary is generated by a model and may contain errors of interpretation. Weleaks gives no warranty of the accuracy, completeness or currency of a Report, and none as to the identity of the person it describes.

7. Acceptable use

7.1 The Customer warrants that they have a legitimate reason for each Search, and that they will use the result lawfully and proportionately.

7.2 The following are prohibited:

  • stalking, harassing, threatening, intimidating or shaming a person, or facilitating any of these;
  • publishing, resale or redistribution of a Report or of its contents, in any form;
  • any of the eligibility purposes listed in Article 5;
  • identity theft, and any use for the purpose of defrauding or extorting a person;
  • compiling, cross-referencing or enriching a file of persons, and any systematic or automated use of the Services;
  • circumventing the technical limits of the Services, and any use inconsistent with their intended purpose.

7.3 Weleaks acts on a substantiated report and on requests from a competent authority, including by closing an Account.

8. Account and credentials

8.1 A Preview may be run without an Account. Buying and consulting a full Report requires one.

8.2 Credentials are personal and confidential. The Customer is responsible for every Search run from their Account and must inform Weleaks without delay, at [email protected], of any unauthorised use.

8.3 The number of free Previews is limited per visitor and per Account. That limit is a protection of the service, not an entitlement.

9. The rights of the person searched for

9.1 A Subject may ask for their information to be removed. Weleaks maintains a suppression list, consulted before any source is queried: once a person is on it, the Services return nothing about them, to any Customer.

9.2 A removal request is made from the page provided for that purpose on the Site, or by writing to [email protected]. It is honoured free of charge.

9.3 A Customer who has downloaded a Report holds a copy Weleaks cannot reach. They undertake to destroy it on request from the Subject, and in any event to keep it no longer than the purpose of their Search requires.

10. Price, taxes and payment

10.1 Access to full Reports is sold as an introductory period of 48 hours at ₦1,494.90, which converts, unless cancelled beforehand, into a subscription at ₦81,389.00 per month with no minimum term. The prices displayed at checkout, in the currency shown there, are those that apply.

10.2 Prices are inclusive of applicable taxes. VAT is that of the Customer's country of residence, under the European rules on electronically supplied services.

10.3 Payment is made by card through Stripe. Subscribing authorises Weleaks to charge the registered payment method on each renewal date until the subscription is cancelled. Weleaks never holds the card details.

10.4 The subscription can be cancelled at any time from the Account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the period paid for. The Subscription Terms and the Refund Policy set out the detail.

11. Right of withdrawal

Consumers in the European Union and the EEA

11.1 A consumer has fourteen (14) days from the conclusion of the contract to withdraw, without giving reasons, under Directive 2011/83/EU.

11.2 A Report is digital content supplied immediately. At checkout the Customer expressly requests immediate performance and acknowledges that the right of withdrawal is lost once the Report has been produced. Where the Customer withdraws before any Report has been produced, they are refunded in full.

11.3 To withdraw, write to [email protected] from the Account's email address within the period.

Professionals

11.4 No right of withdrawal applies to a contract concluded for professional purposes.

12. Availability, liability and force majeure

12.1 Weleaks endeavours to keep the Services accessible at all times, subject to maintenance and to incidents affecting third-party networks and providers. The Services are provided as an obligation of means.

12.2 Weleaks is not liable for the consequences of a decision taken on the basis of a Report, nor for the use the Customer makes of it, nor for indirect loss — in particular loss of business or of reputation.

12.3 In any event, Weleaks's liability is limited to the sums actually paid by the Customer during the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

12.4 Neither party is liable for non-performance resulting from an event of force majeure. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, in particular a consumer's statutory rights.

13. Intellectual property

13.1 The Site, its interface and its trade marks are and remain the property of Weeleaks Technology Limited (C 116871). The Customer receives a personal, non-transferable right to use them for the duration of their access.

13.2 A Report is supplied for the Customer's own use. Its publication, resale or redistribution is prohibited, as is the extraction of any substantial part of the Site.

13.3 The rights in the source material remain with whoever holds them. A link to a source is not a licence to reuse it.

14. Personal data

14.1 Personal data — that of the Customer and that of the Subject — is processed in accordance with the Privacy Policy published on the Site, under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and the Maltese Data Protection Act.

14.2 The Customer processes a Report on their own account and for their own purposes, and answers for that processing under the applicable data-protection law.

15. Suspension and termination

15.1 Weleaks may suspend or close an Account in the event of non-payment, fraud, or breach of Articles 5 or 7 — immediately and without notice where the breach is serious or unlawful.

15.2 Suspension for a serious breach does not give rise to a refund of the period in progress.

15.3 The Customer may delete their Account at any time from the Account settings. Deletion ends access to the Services and to the searches stored in the Account.

16. Governing law and disputes

16.1 These Terms are governed by the law of Malta, without prejudice to the mandatory provisions protecting consumers in their country of residence.

16.2 Any complaint should first be addressed to [email protected].

16.3 A consumer resident in the European Union may use the European Online Dispute Resolution platform. Failing an amicable settlement, the courts of Malta have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory rule of jurisdiction applicable to consumers.
